Bellafont Bumps Up Progress

The “swarm” of workers we told you about in July that would be coming to finish the Bellafont development on Joyce Boulevard in Fayetteville is slowly trickling in.

The Barber Group secured about $15 million in financing to finish the stalled project in late June, but we hear delays closing the loan and the mobilization of subcontractor teams for Dallas-based Precept Builders took longer than expected.

There have been signs lately the project still has a pulse.

We’ve seen framers intermittently working on the East Meets West Spa & Salon as well as a couple landscapers poking around the weedy grounds at Mason’s, which is finally close to setting an opening date after the original plans called for a February debut.

With Nelson’s Crossing now sputtering thanks to difficulties at Dixie Development Inc., the Barber Group’s scrapped Divinity Hotel project just a vacant lot and the Renaissance Tower site still little more than the home to Arkansas’ largest weather vane, Fayetteville is quickly becoming as famous for red dirt as it is for the Razorbacks.
