Rick?s Bakery Dives into Deli
Rick Boone, owner of Rick’s Bakery in Fayetteville since 1980, is slicing into the deli business. With no promotions or any advertising, Boone said business at the deli has been three times higher than expected since introducing a lunch menu “a while back.”
“It will be a true deli,” said Boone, who recently sent his operations manager to Chicago to see how “old-style delis” are done in larger venues. He has plans to visit New York City soon.
Boone said the bakery will continue with the same hours of operation from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. He said the catering side of the business is really picking up and the lunch menu includes five sandwiches with cool names like the Eiffel Tower to the Mona Lisa.
