BlueInGreen Lands Water Grant
The National Science Foundation has granted Fayetteville technology company BlueInGreen LLC a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research award worth $100,000.
The money will be used to engineer a trailer-mounted supersaturated dissolved oxygen injector (SDOX) that will treat water exiting a dam with dissolved oxygen concentrations.
Higher oxygen concentrations mean sport fishing industry wouldn’t suffer from seasonal fluctuations in low dissolved oxygen levels, and drinking water treatment facilities would have higher quality raw water going into facilities.
Low dissolved oxygen concentrations can occur from things such as accidental spills from wastewater treatment facilities, animal waste lagoons and runoff from fertilized fields.
BlueInGreen is a portfolio company of the Arkansas-based Virtual Incubation Co.
