Watching his father work as partner in Brown Hiller Clark & Associates in Fort Smith, Marty Clark started learning and enjoying the aspect of risk management and insurance programs.

After he graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in finance and insurance in 1991, he stayed in Northwest Arkansas to work for the risk management division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Bentonville.

Two-years later, he moved back to his hometown of Fort Smith and started working for insurance agency Brown Hiller Clark as an insurance producer and vice president. In 2002, he became president, and still acts as an insurance producer.

Thirteen years after Clark joined BHC, the agency has quadrupled its revenue, he said. And since he took over as president, the company has doubled its revenue. Looking into the future, he wants to expand the company into other little-explored territories. This summer, BHC will open its first Northwest Arkansas office in Lowell.

Clark serves as president of the board of directors for Bost Inc., is president of the Fort Smith Montessori School board of directors and is on the board of the Childrens Emergency Shelter.

Hes also on the board of First Bank Corp., which acquired BHC in 2002.
