Doug Lynch, former executive vice president of Chambers Bank of North Arkansas, will be president of the Fayetteville/Springdale market for Siloam Springs-chartered Liberty Bank of Arkansas.

Liberty Bank of Arkansas is the planned name of what is currently Arkansas State Bank. ASB was purchased by Liberty Bancshares of Jonesboro and Russellville Bancshares of Russellville in a deal that closed Oct. 4. The name will officially change sometime in October, Howard Hamilton, regional president of Liberty said.

“He knows the market very well and knows the customers and is a good underwriter,” Hamilton said.

Lynch was with Chambers Bank, formerly Community Bank, for about seven years, Hamilton said.

Banking success apparently runs in his family. Lynch’s brother, Jeff Lynch, had the title of CEO added to his presidency at United Bank of Springdale in August.

Doug Lynch’s first day as president of Liberty was Oct. 8.
