Eva Madison, assistant general counsel for employment litigation at Wal-Mart Stores Inc., is leaving the world’s largest company to be an associate with Wright Lindsey & Jennings in the Little Rock law firm’s Rogers office.

Madison is the third Wal-Mart lawyer to leave the Bentonville-based retailer for Wright Lindsey & Jennings. Martin Gilbert and Greg Muzingo made that move in March.

Gilbert was general counsel for the Wal-Mart stores division. At different times in his tenure at Wal-Mart, Muzingo was head of in-house labor and employment, general counsel for the employment division, and senior assistant general counsel for the human resources division.

Paul Morris, an associate in the firm’s Little Rock office, rounds out the four-lawyer team in Rogers.

Wal-Mart has more than 100 lawyers on staff. Madison, who will start her new job in June, said she enjoyed working for a corporation but she missed being a trial lawyer.

“I think I missed the practice of law,” Madison said. “I miss getting my hands dirty.”

Wright Lindsey & Jennings had operated a Fayetteville office for a decade before closing it in November and opening a new one in the Cooper Communities building at 903 N. 47th St. in Rogers

John Lile, a financial partner with Wright Lindsey & Jennings in Little Rock, said the move to Rogers helps the firm better serve its local clients which include Wal-Mart, Cooper Communities of Bella Vista, J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell, National Home Centers Inc. of Springdale and St. Mary’s Hospital of Rogers.
