Bank of Arkansas Tops October Mortgage Race

Bank of Arkansas paced the Washington County mortgage market in October. It made $19.83 million worth of mortgage loans or about 12.24 percent of all of those made that month in the county.
Jeff Dunn, president and CEO of Bank of Arkansas, said the bank had several large transactions in October that could account for a percentage of the loans.
“The focus of our bank in many cases is larger transactions,” Dunn said. “We probably don’t have as many transactions filed as other banks but our ability to handle larger transactions has helped our volumes.”
If the $17.27 million done by Arvest Mortage Co. and $11.64 million done by Arvest Bank had been combined, the $28.9 million total would have accounted for 17.84 percent of Washington County’s October mortgages.
