Link in Bank List Was Incorrect

For the last two years, we apparently inadvertently directed readers searching online for the Madison County Bank & Trust Co. to a Web site devoted to lesbian pornography. The incorrect Internet address for the bank was twice published in the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s annual banking and finance issue and in the 2002 Northwest Arkansas Book of Lists.r

An acquisition of the bank by First National Bank in Green Forest is expected to close this quarter pending regulatory approval. So the new correct site to visit is www.fnbgf.com. r

The error was recently discovered when a Business Journal reporter stumbled upon it during a routine update of banking database information. We’ve omitted the errant address but suffice it to say that even in Northwest Arkansas’ highly competitive market, we’ve yet to see any bank advertising quite like that. r
