Shake?s Opens Four New Stores
Since we last wrote about Shake’s Frozen Custard in March, the Fayetteville-based company has opened new stores in Oklahoma City; St. Louis; Topeka, Kan.; and Abilene, Texas. Two new stores are scheduled to open in Texas in September — Longview on Sept. 2 and League City near Houston on Sept. 15.r
Twelve Shake’s stores are under construction, including new locations in Atlanta; Lewisville, Texas; Foley, Ala.; and Jacksonville, Fla.r
The company currently has 41 stores open, said Corey Osborne, CEO of Shake’s. That number includes two company-owned stores and 39 franchise stores. Shake’s has 53 more stores under development.r
Osborne said the company plans to move into its new headquarters and training facility at 2785 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville by late spring. Construction of the 6,000-SF building will cost about $1.4 million, he said. The company is currently leasing headquarters space in Fayetteville’s Three Sisters building on Dickson Street.r
On Aug. 20, Shake’s opened a new prototype store adjacent to the site of the headquarters on College Avenue. The company also tore down an 850-SF building at 2835 N. College Ave. that had served as a store. That building was originally constructed as a Rally’s hamburger restaurant.
