FAYETTEVILLE — A man on foot pulled a knife on a clerk at Bank of America’s Dickson Street branch in Fayetteville late Monday afternoon in what was an apparent attempted bank robbery.

Police on the scene said no one was injured but declined to disclose any additional details.

The incident occurred during the 4 o’clock hour at what the bank calls its University of Arkansas branch. Police tape reading “crime scene, do not cross,” was strung up around the entire office at 703 W. Dickson St.

The resulting police presence, and local media circus, produced a minor traffic jam near the corner of Dickson Street and University Avenue.

No additional details about the event were available by 5 p.m. Monday.
