Embassy Suites Finally Finished

John Q. Hammons Hotels Inc. of Springfield, Mo., on May 15 announced the official opening of its $47 million, 248-room Embassy Suites Hotel of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers.

The nine-story hotel is located at 3303 Pinnacle Hills Parkway.

The hotel’s convention facilities offer 20,000 SF of meeting space, including a 12,000-SF grand ballroom and a 4,000-SF junior ballroom.

Each meeting facility has audiovisual capabilities and is wired for high-speed Internet access. Additional power sources are available for trade shows, and each meeting room is equipped with a sound system and adjustable lighting controls.

The hotel’s culinary staff is prepared to cater for groups of up to 1,350 people.

Room rates at the hotel range from $99-$199 per night.

The Links At Springdale To Have Apartments, Golf

The Links at Springdale LLC, comprising Gary George of Springdale and Jim Lindsey of Fayetteville, on May 1 got a loan of $20 million from Bank of America in Fayetteville to build an apartment/golf complex in southwest Springdale.

The Links at Springdale will have 492 apartments spread out over 41 buildings at the 40th Street and Luvene Avenue intersection.

Lindsey Construction Co. of Fayetteville will be the general contractor on the project.

Lyndy Lindsey will be designing the nine-hole golf course that will be a par-27 layout much like its similar apartment/golf complexes in Fayetteville, Lowell and Bentonville.

There will be 164 one-bedroom units and 328 two-bedroom units. Nine buildings will be a classic style with units ranging from $475-$545 per month and in size from 545-814 SF. There are 10 classic deluxe buildings with units ranging from $475-$565 per month and from 545-870 SF. There are 11 custom buildings with units ranging from $505-$625 per month and from 666-989 SF. And there are 11 custom deluxe III buildings ranging from $505-$695 per month and from 666-1,043 SF.

There will be a club house with a fitness center, tanning beds, a hot tub, a sauna, a game room, a big screen television and a swimming pool.

The first building at The Links at Springdale is expected to be ready for occupancy by late September with the last building completed by September of 2004.

Shadow Valley Continues To Grow With Puttkammer

Vance Puttkammer Homes Inc. of Rogers on April 8 secured six loans totaling $1.31 million from Arvest Bank in Rogers to build homes at a southwest Rogers subdivision.

Shadow Valley is a 514-acre golf community that starts less than three miles west of the Pleasant Grove Road/Interstate 540 intersection and sprawls a mile west to Arkansas Highway 112. Homes will be priced from $175,000, with the average home priced at about $250,000, and their size will range from 1,900 to 3,600 SF. The 18-hole golf course opened earlier this year.

There will be from 1,700-2,000 living units in the initial phase of Shadow Valley. Charles Reaves, president of Reaves Enterprises Inc., is the developer.

Power Homes Being Built At Rogers’ Emerald Heights

John Power and Scott Comiskey of Powerbilt Custom Homes Inc. in Bentonville on April 19 got three loans totaling $564,000 from Pulaski Bank & Trust in Little Rock to build homes at a south Rogers subdivision.

Emerald Heights is west of Interstate 540 off Pleasant Grove Road and near Bellview Elementary School. Homes there will range from 2,200-2,300 SF.

Roth, Walker Building Several Homes At Wildwood

Randal Roth of Roth Family Inc. in Springdale on April 8 got eight loans totaling $1.22 million from several banks to build more homes at a southwest Bentonville subdivision.

Roth got four loans totaling $620,000 from United Bank in Springdale, two loans from Simmons First Bank totaling $313,600 and two more from Bank of Rogers totaling $291,030 to build homes at Wildwood subdivision.

Also, Tommy Walker Construction Co. of Rogers recently purchased five building permits valued at a combined $893,105 to also build more homes at Wildwood.

Wildwood will have 71 lots in Phase I. It is located off Arkansas Highway 12 near Brightwood subdivision. The average heated square feet of homes at Wildwood will range from 2,000-2,500 SF.

The land owners at Wildwood are John and Mike Charlton.

Cryovac Begins Plant Construction

Cryovac Inc., a subsidiary of Sealed Air Corp. in Saddle Brook, N.J., recently purchased a building permit valued at $508,000 to begin construction on its Rogers plant.

Located on 40 acres at 4 Bakaert Drive in the Rogers Industrial Park, Phase I of the Cryovac plant will be 165,000 SF. It will create about 100 jobs.

The plant will produce shrink film that is converted into packaging for poultry, pork and beef. Ray Youngblood, vice president of manufacturing, said the plant will begin limited production late this year with full production by early 2004.

Cryovac has plants in six continents. Sealed Air is a Fortune 500 company with $3.2 billion in sales in 2002.

Summer Meadows Construction Continues

Danny and Terri Parsley of DP Development in Lowell recently purchased four building permits valued at a combined $433,220 to build more homes at a northeast Lowell subdivision.

Summer Meadows subdivision’s Phase II will have 33 lots. Phase I had 37. The latest homes of the Parsleys will be at 314 Eclipse St., 709 Equinox Ave., 709 Hankins Ave. and 715 Hankins Ave.

DP Development is also the general contractor. Houses at Summer Meadows are about 1,600 SF each.

Carriage Square To Get More Jensen Homes

Bruce and Harold Jensen of Jensen & Jensen LLC in Bentonville on May 1 secured four loans totaling $368,000 from Arkansas National Bank of Bentonville to build more homes at a southwest Bentonville subdivision.

Carriage Square, located off Arkansas Highway 102 near Kristyl Heights and Eagle Crest subdivisions, has 189 single-family lots, 33 duplexes and office space.

Homes will range from 1,350-1,600 SF.

Jim Lemons of Bentonville is the developer of the Carriage Square.
