Hospital Auxiliary Fund Awards $33,000 in Grants

The Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation distributed $33,000 in grants last month from funds established by the Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary. The foundation has handled a donor-advised fund for the auxiliary since 1999 when the auxiliary opted to endow $33,000 after Northwest Medical Center became a for-profit hospital.

The most recent award of grants from the auxiliary’s fund are:

• $15,000 to Community Clinic at St. Francis House for general operating expenses.

• $5,000 to the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter for renovation and expansion.

• $5,000 to KIDCARE, a Springdale after-school program.

• $5,000 to Springdale Shop With A Cop to provide Christmas gifts for 50 needy children.

• $2,000 to Ozark Guidance Center / Habberton House to provide Christmas gifts for the children and youth.

• $1,000 to Southwest Junior High School HARMONY Boosters for expenses related to a trip to perform with the all-girl’s choir in New York.
