Fayetteville native Edward Prewitt visited 55 countries before he was 30 years old. Prewitt spent seven years in the Clinton Administration, ultimately achieving the rank of deputy assistant secretary for intergovernmental affairs in the U.S. Department of Commerce.

He worked for both the Commerce and Education Departments, where he served under five different Cabinet secretaries. Prewitt returned to Northwest Arkansas in May 2001 to join stepfather Bill Conrad and partner Janice Stanesic at Fayetteville’s Conrad Financial Group, which operates as a team within A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc.

“The experience I got within the [Clinton] Administration, working to help the American people, was incredible,” Prewitt said.

Prewitt earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 1994 from the University of Arkansas. After having success in Professor Robert Kennedy’s portfolio management class, Prewitt was selected for a six-month internship with New York specialist firm Fernandez Bartch & Mirra. He left Wall Street for Washington, D.C., in November 1994.

He’s on the board of directors of Lifestyles Inc. and Habitat for Humanity and is the chapter adviser for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the UA.
