Before opening the doors to his new box-office business, Ticketsage Inc. owner Stephen Cassar invested two years and $250,000 to research and develop the necessary software.
Marketing the goods in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas, the company will lease hardware equipped with Ticketsage programs. Patents are pending on Cassar’s software, which enables businesses to sell and track tickets to their own events. Ticketsage charges customers a flat rate of $1-$8 for each ticket sold.
Seats on the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad soon will be managed by Ticketsage, Cassar said. Ticketmaster is the largest competitor in Cassar’s new field.
Ticketsage runs in a 1,500-SF Fayetteville office with a staff of five, four of whom are program developers. Cassar said he expects to employ 20 people after the first year of business.
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Cassar moved to Northwest Arkansas four years ago. He owns and operates Fayetteville’s Red Fossil Communications, an e-commerce management company that staffs four people.
