Golfing in Goshen Remains a Possibility

The on-again, off-again golf course near Goshen has taken another twist.

Real estate giant Jim Lindsey is discussing plans with land owner Ronny Hissom to develop a golf course community on Hissom’s Circle H Farm just west of Goshen’s twin bridges. The site is on the south side of Arkansas Highway 45.

Lindsey has 25 golf courses in six states that are either open or in the developing stage, all but one (Fayetteville’s Paradise Valley) of which has been designed by his son, Lyndy.

Hissom’s Goshen golf project has had many possibilities over the last several years. Last year Pro Star Golf Group of Hilton Head, S.C., backed out of opening the course it was going to call Riverwood Country Club. Prior to that, Gary Combs, owner of Basic Block Group, turned away from the project that had a planned golf community development of more than 300 homes and 100 condominiums.

Lindsey already has a layout and design of the project if he and Hissom can work out the details. If they can, Lindsey will be selling lots, houses and condos on the property.

Meanwhile, Lindsey is in the planning stages to build an 18-hole course in Bryant. And he and Gary George of George’s Inc. are looking at building an executive course in Springdale off south 40th Street.

Lindsey owns courses in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas and Texas.
