We hear Copeland’s of New Orleans plans to open its first Arkansas restaurant in Rogers’ Scottsdale Center.

The head of franchising at Al Copeland Investments in the Crescent City said, “We’re not at liberty to discuss that now,” but said we should call back in a couple of weeks.

Copeland started Popeye’s Fried Chicken in 1972 and now has more than 800 locations in the United States and abroad.

He founded Copeland’s of New Orleans in 1983. New Orleans Magazine named the casual-dining Copeland’s “best Cajun restaurant” nine years in a row. There are now about 40 Copeland’s restaurants nationwide.
