After 43 years in the business of corrugated cardboard, Bill Stribling Sr. has launched another venture with his favorite medium. The Box Barn sells varying sizes of cardboard to businesses, industries and individuals out of an 8,800-SF shop in Rogers.

Most of the services provided through The Box Barn were originally performed at the Stribling family’s business, Stribling Packaging Inc.

The packaging company still manufactures the cardboard sold at The Box Barn.

But the Box Barn provides a selling point for Stribling Packaging products. Pack-and-ship services, waxed poultry boxes and packing accessories such as foam peanuts and shredded newsprint are also available at The Box Barn.

Stribling actually retired from his post at Stribling Packaging two years ago, but he jumped back in the business to help steer The Box Barn through its early days. He would not disclose the business’ starting costs.

Right now, The Box Barn is sampling area demand, Stribling said, but he hopes to start a stock-box program eventually. Cardboard products would be available for ordering from printed and online catalogs through the stock-box program, allowing The Box Barn to serve a larger area.
