UA Names Building for Former Chancellor
The University of Arkansas has named a three-story, 40,000-SF building on the Fayetteville campus in honor of Daniel Ferritor, who has served the UA for almost three decades.
Daniel E. Ferritor Hall opened in August 2000 after almost three years of construction. The $10.8 million building, north of the Science-Engineering Building, houses 31 research laboratories and nine “environmental rooms.”
Ferritor was chancellor of the Fayetteville campus for 11 years and served as a professor in the sociology department for another 17 years. He helped spearhead the campaign to save Old Main, the oldest building on campus, which underwent a $13 million renovation and reopened in 1991.
The building was officially dedicated in Ferritor’s name on March 2.
