Aviation Science Partnership Under Consideration

We hear Northwest Arkansas Community College in Rogers and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia are discussing partnering for a four-year undergraduate degree in aviation science. HSU’s portion would be conducted through distance learning.

NWACC already offers a two-year program. Plans are still in the developmental stage, but it looks as though the partnership will go through.

This could be another boost for Northwest Arkansas’ fledgling aviation sector. Already the emergence of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) at Highfill, presence of Ozark Aircraft Systems Inc. at XNA and Rogers’ new civil defense patrol at Carter Field have gotten area aviation off the ground.
