Executives Make Stock Trades
Several executives at Northwest Arkansas companies made inside trades toward the end of 2000. Here are some of the major ones:
Alice Walton, daughter of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. founder Sam Walton and sister to company chairman Robson Walton, sold 600,000 shares of Wal-Mart stock Dec. 5 for $29.7 million. On Nov. 29, Wal-Mart executive vice president John B. Menzer sold a total of 24,900 shares of Wal-Mart for $2.1 million. Different options available to both Walton and Menzer account for the wide variation in stock price.

USA Truck Inc. vice president of operations George R. Jacobs sold a total of 20,000 shares of the Van Buren company’s stock on Nov. 20-21 for $116,875.
Tyson Foods Inc. board member Joe Fred Star paid $100,000 on Oct. 18 for 10,000 shares of Class A Tyson stock. James G. Ennis, the Springdale company’s vice president and chief accounting officer, sold 460 Class A shares Oct. 26 for $4,775.
