Small Cap Firm Making In-Roads
Since opening its Fayetteville location in early September, publicly traded Cole Computer Corp. has secured three local commercial accounts. The company doesn’t identify its clients, but Cole comptroller Eddy Littlejohn said the Oklahoma City firm is encouraged by its reception.
rSeveral special promotions are planned this month for the Springdale store’s grand opening at 800-A S. Thompson St.
r”We’ve had a lot of people come in and say they’re so glad we’re here,” said Springdale store manager Gesila Fales. “Evidently, this area has not had a computer store before that does repairs and custom builds like we do.”
rA full-service computer store, Cole manufactures and sells wholesale and retail customized personal computers and offers technical assistance and networking. The company did $9 million in gross sales last year but is not yet profitable.
rMegabyte Computer Center in Fayetteville, the area’s largest locally-owned computer store, is a retailer of Compaq, Apple and commercial Hewlett-Packard products but does not do custom builds. Both stores believe they fill different niches.
r The company employs about 40 people throughout its 12 stores and corporate office.
