Chris Miesner never gave much thought to rocks cracking windshields on the highway until he worked as an insurance adjuster. After Miesner dealt with repaired or replaced windshield insurance claims, he was startled by the large volume of windshield claims.

In 1996, he left the insurance business and became a partner in a windshield repair shop in Little Rock, but Miesner wanted to own his own business. He moved to Northwest Arkansas and opened Glass Renovators.

“There’s a lot more to it than I thought,” Miesner says.

Glass Renovators offers a patented repair system called Ultra-bond to manage chips or cracks in windshields. Pressure and vacuum tools apply various resins to mend the broken glass, and the system can only be found in Northwest Arkansas at Glass Renovators.

A crack in a windshield can cause dangerous glare and weaken the integrity of the windshield, Miesner says, noting that most insurance companies will pay for the cost of a windshield repair.

As he travels through Benton and Washington counties to repair the windshields, Miesner says he hopes to soon offer complete windshield replacement.
