Texas lost a good one when Rosie Aguilar moved to Arkansas on a college track-and-field scholarship. Northwest Arkansas gained more than an athlete when Aguilar, 27, chose to stay in the community after college, and ASAP Services received a dedicated manager.

After three years with the locally-based staffing service, Aguilar has helped build branches of the business in Rogers and Fort Smith. Now serving as the Fayetteville branch manager, she continues to help the company develop.

Aguilar’s role at ASAP includes managing company involvement with every industry in Northwest Arkansas and as many different characters. It is the large variety of people that attracted Aguilar to the staffing business. From placing the highest executive to filling a job on an assembly line, Aguilar said working with all kinds of people keeps her interested in her job.

“You’ve got to be ready to respect every single person who comes in here,” Aguilar said.

Timing for Aguilar’s work with ASAP fit perfectly with the culture changes in the area. Originally from El Paso, Texas, Aguilar grew up speaking Spanish and English at home, adding to her talents. As the Hispanic presence in the area grows, bilingual managers become more valuable.
