In March, Donald Brown was recognized by TeleCorp PCS/Suncom Wireless as one of its top managers in the company. He couldn’t help it. He’s in love.

Brown, 39, said he “fell in love with Northwest Arkansas” shortly after moving here, and he plans to retire in the area.

A native of Sherwood, Brown received a degree in business administration and marketing in the mid-1980s from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He started with Hartford Insurance in Little Rock as a liability adjuster, and went from there into the high-tech field by joining Snider Telecom in Little Rock as a sales manager for four years.

Brown then opened his own manufacturers’ representative agency, and served as president and managing partner for three years with Eschland Agency Inc. in Little Rock. That’s when Brown decided to join Wireless Facilities Inc.

Brown joined TeleCorp during the build-out phase of the business, and in January of 1999 accepted the post as Northwest Arkansas market manager. His territory covers from Branson, Mo., to Fort Smith, and his duties include sales production, cash management, distribution, promotions, public and community relations, personnel management and systems build-out.
