Doss Has Vision
West Doss, who served for the past two years as chief of staff for Congressman Asa Hutchinson, moved back to Northwest Arkansas in late December to serve as president of Vision Technologies in Rogers.
Vision Technologies has a number of patents in the medical field for research by Lee Thompson. The company has a patent for a constant-focus camera lens that Doss says may “make focusing mechanisms obsolete.”
Vision Technologies is currently working to develop digital cameras that use the constant-focus lens for the aviation industry. The cameras can be installed in airplane cockpits and on the wings to constantly transmit images during flight to the black box, the flight data recorder. That way, the black box would be able to provide visual as well as audio information in the event of crash.
Doss received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1980 and a law degree in 1986, both from the University of Arkansas.
He practiced law in Northwest Arkansas before joining Hutchinson’s team in Washington.
