Mobile Waiters is trying to help people stretch their short lunch hours. Providing delivery service for six area restaurants, the business caters mainly to office lunches.

Clients can avoid lunch hour rushes by ordering a minimum of $10 from the menu guide, supplied by Mobile Waiters, and the food will usually be delivered within an hour, owner Matthew Sanders says.

“The food can be right where they want it, right when they want it,” Sanders says. Mobile Waiters delivers to most of Fay-etteville and some of Springdale.

Panda Chinese Restaurant, Market Place Express, Cable Car Pizza, Early Berlin, The 36 Club, and Chili’s are some of the restaurants in the menu guide, and Sanders says the business’ popularity exploded over the first month of operation. More restaurants are added regularly, and Sanders plans to open another location, soon.

For each restaurant that the customer orders food from, $5 is added to the total bill. Driver’s tip is not included in the $5, but gratuities are automatically added to orders of $50 or more.

Sanders originally thought of Mobile Waiters after moving to Northwest Arkansas from Arizona. Chili’s sounded like a good choice one day, but, being unfamiliar with the area, Sanders couldn’t find Millsap Road in Fayetteville where the restaurant is located. A restaurant delivery service seemed obvious to Sanders.

Other entrepreneurs have tried and failed at the delivery business, but Sanders says the difference is in the marketing. Supplying customers with the menu guide is one marketing tactic that Sanders says separates his business from the others.

“We actually aggressively market this business,” Sanders says.
