J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell is now leasing the 9,200-SF top floor of the Northwest Arkansas Business Center’s Building One.

The 30,000-SF Class “A” property, on 30 acres just south of the corner of U.S. Highway 71 and Arkansas 264, is owned by Bentonville Associates Ventures LLC. That building, on Lot 3 of the NWA Business Center, was mortgaged for $3.2 million with Arkansas National Bank in Bentonville. The note is being used to handle the temporary financing for the project’s primary investor, THF/BAV Lowell Development LLC.

BAV LLC, manager of NWA #1 LLC, is building a 20,000-SF office and computer annex on a 52-acre site along J.B. Hunt Corporate Drive. Arkansas National Bank is handling the $3.5 million in financing.

The high-tech facility will be leased to J.B. Hunt and will feature a 5,000-SF computer bunker that’s tornado proof. A direct cable linking system will connect the computer annex to J.B. Hunt’s corporate headquarters.

Plans call for the bunker to be turned over to J.B. Hunt by Sept. 15 and the rest of the building to be completed by Nov. 1.
