The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and the Northwest Arkansas Times have won the Arkansas Press Association’s general excellence award in their respective size categories.
In addition to winning the top award for larger daily newspapers in the state, the D-G won 15 first-place awards.
In addition to winning the top award for medium-circulation dailies, the Times of Fayetteville was named first-place in another seven categories.
The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas received nine first-place awards. Because of its circulation size, the Morning News competes against the largest daily newspapers in Arkansas.
The Benton County Daily Record received one first-place award. The Daily Record competes in the medium dailies category.
The awards were announced July 17. The contest was judged by members of the Missouri Press Association.
