A Natural for Evelyn Hills

Ozark Natural Foods, a co-operative health-food store on Fayetteville’s Dickson Street, has been planning to move next year into a vacant 12,000 SF space in the city’s Evelyn Hills shopping center but is now considering another space in Evelyn Hills instead.

According to a sign in the store, the co-op has been offered 9,620 SF of space in the building that previously housed Montgomery Ward, which closed the store this past spring. The remaining part of the Montgomery Ward building could be razed to make room for additional parking or a loading dock.

Either way, the move will almost triple the store’s space. Members of the co-op will vote on proposals before any are accepted.

The co-op has raised $45,000 so far to pay for the move through its “owner loan program.” The store is attempting to borrow $100,000 from its members to finance the move.
