Lloyd’s Truck Center, based in Mulberry, recently opened a branch office in Springdale. The company sells both new and used large trucks and long trailers.

Royce Neace, the Springdale branch manager, says the store’s clientele includes individual shoppers and companies looking for Western Star trucks and Dorsey trailers.

“For companies,” he says, “we have some 50-odd on order. We sell a lot to one- or two-truck operators also.”

“There was a good market here for trailers and trucks and when we were working down in Mulberry we were selling a lot of equipment up here. So, we decided to come up here and put a lot in. We are also putting in lots in Tulsa, Joplin and Springfield, Mo.,” Neace says.

Neace says the Springdale store has just three employees.

“We don’t have a shop or parts department here,” Neace says. “We send everything down to Mulberry. Sometimes we send some of our stuff to other companies out here to be repaired.”

Neace says Lloyd’s Truck Center is the largest Dorsey refrigerated trailer dealer in the United States.

“We do a lot of business here. We sell a lot of trailers especially,” Neace says. “The way things are going … it looks like we will sell 115-200 trailers just here out of Springdale this year.”

Neace says a new trailer costs about $25,000, compared to a new diesel truck, which costs about $100,000.
