Electric Company Glowing

Fort Smith’s Baldor Electric Co. got a glowing recommendation in a recent issue of Better Investing, the monthly magazine published by the National Association of Investors Corp.

The electric motor manufacturer was touted as a “bona fide growth company with a sterling past and bright future” by Charles Allmon, a regular columnist for the magazine. Admittedly, Baldor’s products aren’t getting the kind of attention some more popular sectors are. Electric motors and drives “may not generate as much sex appeal as a hot Internet web site,” Allmon wrote, “[but] they are crucial for boosting efficiency in nearly every industrial environment.” Another highlight in the Allmon article: “Baldor remains an extremely well-run company, with a long history of expanding revenues and margins.”
