Baker Publishes Book About eBay
Mike Baker of Springdale (not the Michael Baker who owns Houndstooth Clothing Co. of Fayetteville) has published a booklet about Internet auctions.
Titled “Strike It Rich On EBAY,” Baker’s 74-page book tells people how to make money on the world’s largest online auction site.
“The book shows you exactly how to get your auction up, place it and get maximum exposure every time on every auction,” Baker says. “The book reveals all my best-kept secrets and shows people how to skyrocket their sales on any online Internet auction site.”
Baker says he’s similar to a middleman. He buys at wholesale prices and sells at retail on eBay.
“You have to buy in volume to do this,” he says.
On eBay, Baker auctions a variety of items from antiques to marbles. In the past two years, he has posted more than 20,000 items for auction. He says more than 7 million people are currently bidding on eBay, providing a worldwide audience for auctioning items.
Baker’s book was self-published March 29. He was featured April 1 in a Wall Street Journal article about online auctions.
Baker worked for Levi-Strauss and Co., which closed its Fayetteville manufacturing facility on June 30, 1998.
Baker is scheduled to speak at Barnes & Noble bookstores in Fayetteville on May 23 and Little Rock on June 5. Baker’s book, which sells for $15, may be purchased directly from him by e-mailing [email protected].
