A top administrator at Northwest Health System is due for a new position, we hear. Tom O’Neal has been chief operating officer of Northwest Health System since the 1996 merger between Bates Medical Center, where O’Neal had been the top executive, with Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
But now O’Neal is slated to become special projects manager, overseeing several projects, including the not-so-insignificant task of building a new hospital in Bentonville to replace the existing structure used by Bates.
Northwest’s owner, Quorum Health Group Inc., has agreed to build a new facility within the Bentonville city limits although no site has been finalized yet. A consulting firm has been hired to help with planning the new facility.
