Adios For Real This Time
Magnetek is going for good this time. After announcing last March it would close its Prairie Grove plant and eliminate 105 jobs over the next nine months, the company managed to hang on through the new year.
But employees were told Jan. 7 the small-motor the manufacturer will definitely close this spring. However Magnetek only guaranteed its employees “a minimum of 60 days advance notice of termination.”
The plant’s production will temporarily be moved to another facility within the United States, but most of it will eventually end up in Mexico.
