John Schmuecker, who owns Tiny Tim’s Pizza on the downtown Fayetteville square, says he plans to open West Mountain Brewery next door to his pizzeria by Thanksgiving.

Schmuecker has leased the space adjacent to Tiny Tim’s that previously housed Doodle Bugs and The Southern Gentleman. Doodle Bugs, a children’s clothing store, moved in June to 3660 Front St. in Fayetteville. The Southern Gentleman, a cigar and gift shop, closed in early August.

With the additional space, Schmuecker’s pizzeria and brewery will take up half the block on the south side of the square.

Schmuecker, 34, took over as owner of Tiny Tim’s on Jan. 2, 1996, 11 years to the day after he started working for Tim’s Pizza. The three Tim’s Pizza locations were opened and operated by Mel Cranston but have now been sold to former employees. Schmuecker says he now has room for 100 seats at Tiny Tim’s, but the expansion will double his space and the number of seats.

Schmuecker plans to serve four to six different microbrewed beers on a regular basis at West Mountain Brewery. Dining will be available on the brewery side of the establishment as well as at Tiny Tim’s. Schmuecker says he plans to add new items to the menu and will start serving mixed drinks when the microbrewery opens.

Schmuecker says he plans to have the brewery open in time to provide refreshments for people who come to the square to view the Lights of the Ozarks.
