KFSM: Please Give Us The Arkansas Open

It was a classic opening teaser: Three people dead in a shooting rampage and a 15-year-old is in custody.

But before giving additional details, KFSM TV-5 made us wait through four other stories: a weather update and reports on a man who had been wounded in a separate shooting incident, a Washington County car accident and a Crawford County manhunt. Only then did we learn that the shooting that left three people dead was in Tulsa.

We’re told that industry jargon for this kind of teaser is the “Hollywood open.”
