And a New Bank, II
Speaking of banks, there’s another one headed for Fayetteville. Simmons First Bank of Northwest Arkansas is building a 3,100-SF facility valued at $1.6 million along Joyce Boulevard, near the new Circuit City store.
Lead lending officer for the branch will be Joe Ruddell, who joined Simmons a month ago as vice president and commercial loan officer. He previously worked at Bank of Fayetteville.
Joe Mills, bank president and CEO, hopes to open the new office by year’s end. Crafton Tull & Associates designed the building. Nabholz Construction is the general contractor. Construction begins this month. The branch is intended as a full-service facility, complete with commercial lending, consumer and mortgage departments as well as a four-lane drive-through and an automated teller machine.
Simmons already has Northwest Arkansas offices in Rogers, Springdale and Bella Vista. Officials reportedly hope to capture a bigger share of the region’s banking market with the new office.
