The nation’s newest magazine is based in Fayetteville.

The Life@Work Journal premiered last month with a printing of 35,000 copies. The 40-page magazine is aimed at Christian business people and carries the subtitle, “Blending Biblical Wisdom and Business Excellence.”

The idea for the magazine was conceived by Tom Addington and Steve Graves, founding partners of the Cornerstone Group of Fayetteville. The Cornerstone Group is a consulting company whose operating principles are based on Christian teachings.

The monthly magazine is available by subscription. The price for 12 issues is $70. The cost of a subscription is higher than most magazines because The Life@Work Journal doesn’t accept advertising.

Market research shows a potential base of 39 million subscribers, says Stephen Caldwell, the former Arkansas Democrat-Gazette sportswriter who is managing editor of the magazine. He hopes to find 10,000 of them by the end of the year, he says.

The first issue of the magazine included a feature story on the Baltimore surgeon who successfully separated Siamese twins last year. Caldwell says the magazine may be available in bookstores eventually but, until then, subscriptions and complimentary issues are available by calling 444-0664 or toll-free at 1-877-543-9675.
