At its annual meeting, the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce gave John Gilliam, owner of the Ozark Brewing Co., the 1997 Business for the Arts Award, and Janice and Darrell Judy, owners of Pizza Junction, received the 1997 Ecology Award.

The brewing company was recognized for its sponsorship of Broadway productions, including “Mame” and “Grease” and sponsorship of the 1997-98 Broadway Season Brochure for the Walton Arts Center.

The Judys were honored for their volunteer work to educate students and to sponsor and supervise environmental projects in the city’s schools.

Clark McClinton, longtime Fayetteville businessman and community supporter, was honored by the chamber, also. McClinton was named winner of the Athena Award, which honors individuals who excel in their own field and help others succeed in theirs. The Athena Award is sponsored locally by Jones Olds-GMC-Buick-Mercedes.
