National Closes Another
National Home Centers Inc. is closing yet another store, this time in Rogers.
The contractor outlet at 430 Dyke Road should be vacant by now. Dwain Newman, chairman of the board and CEO of the company, says the company is combining the facility with the Bentonville store, which is being expanded. The larger retail store at 300 N. 46th St. is not affected by the closing, Newman says.
In October, National closed its store in Conway, citing decreased sales and mounting operating losses.
National opened the contractor outlet in Rogers in 1985 and the retail store in October 1995. The Bentonville store was acquired in 1992.
None of the company’s employees will be laid off, he says. They will be reassigned to stores in Bentonville and Springdale.
The vacant building in Rogers is owned by Newman and will be sold or leased, he says.
