Lindsey & Associates Open New Division

Lindsey & Associates Inc. of Fayetteville has opened a new division that will handle the appraisal and sale of businesses.

Lindsey Business Services will provide a full-service operation that can help business owners who are interested in selling their businesses by determining the value of the business and finding a buyer. The service also will help investors find businesses to buy.

“We are trying to do something in this part of the country that hasn’t been done,” says Jim Lindsey, owner of Lindsey & Associates. “We want to give businesses the type of professional service they demand and need.”

Jim Potts is the co-founder of Lindsey Business Services and will work as the general manager of the new division. Potts has been a consultant for Fortune 500 companies and has owned and sold several businesses.

“It is extremely difficult for business owners to know how to sell their business properly,” Potts says. “We are able to help them develop a comprehensive exit strategy that enables them to get a good price for their business.”

Rick Dacus has joined the company to work in the new division. Dacus is a former instructor at the University of Arkansas College of Business Administration and has owned and managed several retail businesses in Northwest Arkansas.

Potts and Dacus will evaluate a company’s past performance, its present financial situation and its future potential. They also will ensure that the primary risks of the business are insured and find a way to finance the sale or purchase.

“Jim (Potts) gives our customers the knowledge and professional abilities they are looking for,” Lindsey says. “He not only knows how important it is to get a business ready to sell, but he knows how to get the job done.”
