Stephens Invited to Cook at White House
Suzie Stephens, chef/owner of Nibbles Gourmet Catering of Fayetteville, has been invited to The White House to assist White House chef Walter Scheib for a future event that has yet to be specified.
Stephens received the invitation in a letter dated May 20 from Ann Stock, White House social secretary, to Ann Henry, who had written Stock on Stephens’ behalf. Henry is a University of Arkansas business professor, former Fayetteville City Council member and longtime friend of President Clinton.
Stephens, a certified executive chef, says she has replied to Stock, telling her she will be glad to serve as the assistant chef for a White House event.
“I’m thrilled beyond belief,” says Stephens. “It’s the opportunity of a lifetime. What a nice thing for a chef to get to do.”
Stephens has cooked several times for Clinton – when he was governor and twice when he visited Northwest Arkansas as president.
