Merchandise from Arkansas’ four Pot & Ladle Inc. stores went on sale May 23 at the Rogers store in Dixieland Mall after Arkansas National Bank of Bentonville foreclosed on the company’s loan.

Dykema, president of the bank, says the sale may continue for six weeks. Initially, the kitchen and cooking items sold by Pot & Ladle were 30 percent off but may come down more in price as the sale continues, he says.

Pot & Ladle had stores in Rogers, Fayetteville, Fort Smith and Hot Springs.

“We’ve consolidated all the stores to the Dixieland Mall location,” Dykema says, “and merchandise is being liquidated.”

By the time the sale is over, Dykema says, the bank may not lose money on the loan, which was backed by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

“I think there’s a reasonable chance we can come out of this without losing anything,” he says.
