Molly Maguires, a cross between an early American restaurant/tavern and an Irish pub, plans to open June 3 at 3 Magellan Blvd. in Bentonville. Dr. Mario Costaldi, a Rogers surgeon and part owner of Molly Maguires, says the restaurant will feature a mining theme and such early American fare as buffalo, rabbit and venison dishes. The eatery also will serve European dishes, he says.

In addition, the private club will feature a dance floor and stage where entertainers will perform. The 6,400-SF restaurant will seat 250 people inside and 200 people outdoors. Early 19th century Pennsylvania settlers referred to local mine workers as Molly Maguires. Dr. Costaldi says the name dates back to Ireland, where miners claimed to have formed a secret society called Molly Maguires in an effort to survive harsh working conditions.
