Construction of a new Consumers IGA Thriftway in Elkins is being financed with a $294,000 mortgage from McIlroy Bank & Trust of Fayetteville.

The mortgage was signed April 23 by James L. Marvin of Fayetteville. Marvin is president of Consumers IGA Thriftway Inc. of Fayetteville and owns several IGA grocery stores in Northwest Arkansas.

The loan is secured by 3.24 acres in the White River Center in Elkins. The Marvin’s IGA at the center will replace the Bomart’s IGA in downtown Elkins that burned in February.

The White River Center is being developed by Don Godsey of Elkins, who also owns Elkins General Hardware at 2049 Twin Oaks Drive in Elkins.
