Northwest Arkansas businessmen Rob Kimbel and Paul Church have been appointed to the board of directors of Generations Bank.

Generations Bank chairman Jon Harrell made the announcement June 1 in a news release.

“We are very fortunate to have Paul and Rob join our board of directors,” Harrell said in a statement. “Their vision and experience in building successful businesses will be great assets to our bank. Paul and Rob’s participation in the leadership of Generations Bank will help us develop goals and focus on strengthening our bank and expanding into the competitive Northwest Arkansas markets.”

Generations Bank, previously known as First Bank, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Camden-based Harrell Bancshares Inc. The bank officially changed its name on April 4.

Kimbel is the chairman of Kimbel Mechanical Systems Inc., a national plumbing company headquartered in Springdale. He is also a partner in Grass Roots Construction LLC, a contracting company specializing in the tax credit housing market throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Kimbel has ownership interests in the rental market for both residential and commercial real estate properties.

Church has owned and operated construction company Arkotex Inc. in Siloam Springs for over 40 years. Arkotex specializes in the installation of Tufco Floors in food processing plants, as well as industrial and chemical processing plants throughout the western part of the country.

Church has served on numerous committees and boards, including the Gentry City Council.

Generations Bank, founded by the Harrell family in 1907 as Calhoun County Bank, has nine Arkansas locations, including one office each in Rogers, Fayetteville, Siloam Springs and Van Buren.

The bank had total assets of $385 million as of March 31.
