University of Arkansas economist Kathy Deck will provide an update on the economy’s progress at the Quarterly Business Analysis luncheon May 27 at the Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center in Fayetteville, just off Interstate 49 at the Wedington Road exit.

The event will start at 11:30 a.m. and include business highlights from the first quarter of 2016, key economic trends and projections, and discussion of other issues facing the regional and state economy.

“The Arkansas economy has been outperforming the national economy through the spring of 2016,” said Deck, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the UA. “The Quarterly Business Analysis program will give attendees the chance to dive deeper into the key drivers of growth and to identify the trends that will affect the region in the future. Community leaders will get information about the most recent statistics and how the revised data affect our understanding of the economy.”

The luncheons are a partnership between the CBER and the Northwest Arkansas chambers of commerce.

The cost for the program and luncheon is $40 and pre-registration by May 23 is required.
