Telecomp Buying Property, Opening New Office in Little Rock

Bentonville-based Telecomp is expanding in central Arkansas with the purchase of new office space at 921 W. Markham St. in downtown Little Rock.

Telecomp CEO Roger Thomas said the office will house five existing employees, two more new hires, and temporary visits from employees based in Bentonville. While Telecomp has more clients in Northwest Arkansas, the biggest clients, those with as many as 500 work stations for phones, computers, and wireless connections, are in central Arkansas.

“We do more revenue business there,” Thomas said. “The businesses there are larger than the ones in Northwest Arkansas.”

A big reason why Telecomp was able to go ahead with the Little Rock purchase was the meteoric appreciation of the property the infrastructure technology company bought in Bentonville at 207 S. Main St. in March 2013. Based on that value, Telecomp leveraged its way into the Little Rock deal for 3,000 renovated SF.

“We’re doing this to obtain more business in central Arkansas,” Thomas said.

Telecomp will occupy half the building, and lease the other half to a tenant. Thomas said financing has already been approved and that the deal should close by the end of January.

In 2014, Telecomp announced an agreement with AT&T in which it buys bandwidth wholesale from the company and then sells it directly to customers in the commercial, governmental, health care and educational sectors. Telecomp was founded in 2003.
