Saddlebock Brewery Owners Split Property
It’ll be interesting to see what happens to Saddlebock Brewery here in the near future.
Brewery owner Steven Rehbock and wife Carolyn Rehbock got a divorce back in July, and according to the property agreement signed by both parties, Rehbock retained ownership of the Springdale brewery’s raw materials — grain, hops, yeast and flavorings — as well as the packaging and marketing materials.
His ex-wife, on the other hand, got the land on which the brewery actually sits on Habberton Road, as well as the brewery’s assets: both brewery buildings, a four-piece brew house, two boilers, a water filtration system, fermenters and kegs.
In an interview with a local beer writer, Rehbock said he had split up from his old business partner, that he was changing from an LLC to a C-corp., and that he was about to start selling preferred stock and common shares to investors. He also said he “ended up with a lot of stuff out here — a brewery and 30 acres — and I want to use all of it in a very strategic way.”
But, according to the divorce settlement and the land records on file with Washington County, the person who owns those 30 acres and the brewery is his ex-wife.
