UPDATE: Downed Plane Piloted By Former Walmart U.S. CEO Bill Simon

UPDATE: Fayetteville police have confirmed the pilot of the plane was Bill Simon of Rogers. Cliff Slincard and Maurice Willis were also aboard the aircraft. There were no serious injuries as a result of the crash.

According to an Federal Aviation Administration registry, the airplane that crash-landed Tuesday morning in Fayetteville is registered to the Rogers residence of Bill Simon, the former president and CEO of Wal-Mart U.S.

According to the registry, the plane is owned by WG Aviation LLC, which lists a Rogers address of 24 Pinnacle Drive.

According to county real estate records, the residence at that address is owned by Bill and Tammy Simon.

It is not clear, however, if Simon was on the Cirrus SR-22T aircraft that parachuted from the sky Tuesday morning. According to witnesses, a bloodied man was one of two people who emerged from the scene of the crash along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in south Fayetteville.

The plane was en route on a roundtrip flight from Bentonville to Waco, Texas, according to a flight plan posted with FlightAware, on online tracking system.

Simon is on the advisory board of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University in Waco, and is an adjunct professor at the school.

The school was to host the 10^th Annual Business Ethics Forum beginning today. Simon was scheduled to speak at the event Friday, according to a press release issued by Baylor.

Simon was Walmart U.S. CEO from 2010 to 2014, until he was succeeded by Greg Foran.
